Must haves to be considered: 1.) Must be Board Certified 2.) Must have a CLEAN/active Texas state license (Must have an absolutely clean record – no history of sanctions by the Medical Board) 3.) Must have an active DEA at time of start 4.) Must have an active BLS 5.) MUST BE PROFICIENT in computers/electronic health records Length of Assignment: Commitment of 3-6 months ONGOING Schedule: 40 hours per week Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM ON-call is preferred but not mandatory / Negotiable Physician Acting Medical Director to begin IMMEDIATELY Position details: - The position caseload of around 60 patients per week - They will see approximately 10-14 per day with acute illness, injury or follow-up. - They will perform clinics in the morning, and annual physicals/meetings in the afternoon. - Provides leadership and management to Medical Services Division staff and other employees and contractors of the State Supported Living Center. - Formulates, implements, and monitors plans to ensure optimum performance of the Division and compliance with the terms of the Department of Justice Settlement Agreement. Participates actively in survey and audit processes. - Coordinates with specialty clinics, participates and chairs various committees. - Provides medical services and care to assigned caseload following current accepted medical practices. - Manages and monitors division fiscal, equipment, building, and staff resources. - Promotes safety and wellbeing of staff and individuals at the State Supported Living Center. - Participates in interdisciplinary planning conferences and personal support team meetings for individuals that reside at the State Supported Living Center and provides medical information to parents and family members as appropriate. - Plans, assigns and supervises the work of others.
