Must haves to be considered: 1.) Must have a clean/active Texas state license 2.) Must have an active DEA at time of start 3.) Must have an active BLS 4.) Must have 1+ years of administrative experience *Physician can be Board Certified or Board Eligible Length of Assignment: Commitment of at least 1-3 months Potentially ONGOING Schedule: 40 hours per week Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM Position details: - The SSLC Medical Director is responsible for managing, coordinating and directing all medical services including psychiatric, dental, pharmaceutical and laboratory work at the SSLC. - Ensures the delivery of high quality medical services to individuals with intellectual disabilities served by SSLCs. - Oversees and directs the diagnoses and treatment of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who also have complex medical, psychiatric and/or behavioral health needs. - Directs the administration of specialized medical treatments and procedures. - Delegates to persons under his/her supervision portions of these duties and sufficient authority for their accomplishment but maintains overall responsibility for the medical care of the individuals at the SSLC. - Participates in and oversees medical staff participation in treatment team process. - ---- - Directly supervises staff Physicians, Advanced Nurse Practitioners (APRN), Physician Assistant(s), Pharmacist(s), Dentist(s), Psychiatrist(s) and oversees contracted staff in these positions. - Serves as a primary care physician for a smaller caseload when needed. - Assists other medical staff with complex cases.
