Overview
Required skills & experience (the 6 “must haves” to be considered) • Unrestricted Clinical Licensed Social Worker (LCSW), (LPC) or will consider (LMFT) • Therapist/Counselor background working with children under age of 10. • At least 1 year of relevant experience is required (might consider 6 months). • Familiarity with Medicaid/Medicare/Commercial Insurance practices. • Self Start mentality. Clinician will be in charge of creating their own weekly schedule with their clients. • Willingness to work with young children and their families. • Registered Play Therapist background preferred. • Looking for an authentic &creative candidate that values independence and freedom. • Comfortable working with DFPS cases and familiar with their regulations • Prefers Bilingual in Spanish • Demonstrates theoretical knowledge of behavioral disorders • Demonstrates knowledge of psychotropic medication • Knowledgeable of child abuse reporting procedures in the state of Texas in accordance with DFPS regulations • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license. • Demonstrate proficiency in children’s psychological disorders common in abused/neglected children What you need to know: • Clinician will be working pediatric clients. Must be comfortable working with children ages 10 and under. • Working from an office located in Converse, TX. • Clinician will meet clients directly in the office or they will travel out in the field to meet clients where they're at (home, business, coffee shop, etc.) • Each session with a client lasts 53 minutes. • Assesses, plans and implements trauma-informed care strategies that are individualized by client and directed toward the most appropriate and least restrictive level of care, while leveraging evidence-based tools. • Collaborates with client, family and healthcare providers to develop an individualized plan of care, based on client goals. • Advocates for clients and families as needed to ensure the client’s needs and choices are fully represented and supported by the care team.
