Overview

Required skills & experience 1. Registered Nurse with a current nursing licensure (TN). 2. Knowledge of or willingness to learn hospice care. 3. Minimum 2 years' nursing practice or equivalent experience required. 4. Hospice, Oncology, MedSurg, Cardiac and/or long-term care strongly preferred. 5. Good working knowledge of Infection Prevention and comfortable with ability to adapt this knowledge to the hospice environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Serves as an infection prevention resource for staff for preventing and addressing infections and exposure issues. 2. Monitors the Home Care Program and The Residence for potential infection spreading practices. 3. Monitors status of employees who have suffered exposures and evaluates and updates the Infection Prevention Program on an annual basis. 4. Participates in Performance Improvement program through monthly reports of patient and employee infections; submits as needed. 5. Full-time night shift, inpatient unit.
