Overview

Required Qualifications: -Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. -Experience:1 year of relevant experience. -Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. What you need to know: NICU is a 51 bed unit comprised of intensive (ICU) and intermediate (ICN) care patients. NICU RNs attend high risk deliveries offering neonatal resuscitation for infants with extreme prematurity and other birth complications. Nurses care for infants born with congenital defects, surgical needs, respiratory distress, neurological disorders, and other diagnoses with an emphasis on relationship-based care where families are true care partners
