Required Qualifications: -Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. -Experience:1 year of relevant experience. -Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. What you need to know: The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a 17 bed unit providing care to children who’s ages range from newborn to 18 years old. The PICU provides care for cardiac and medical illnesses, and the nurses providing care in the unit usually care for one or two patients depending on the severity of the patients’ illness.
