Required skills & experience: • Able to solve technical and interdepartmental problems related to the various laboratory areas with assistance and under supervision. • Capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results and taking corrective action or notifying appropriate supervisory personnel to assist with taking corrective action. • Good communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others. • Certification: MLT (ASCP) MT, MLS certifications within six (6) months of hire or promotion. • 6 months -1 year of recent Med Tech experience • Associate’s degree and the requisite courses to meet CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing. What you need to know: • Under the general supervision of medical technologist/manager/director, performs a variety of routine and complex assays in at least 3 areas of the clinical laboratory. • Ensures the accuracy and precision of diagnostic results through performance and maintenance and calibration of multiplex instrumenting systems. • Routinely solves technical and interdepartmental problems related to the various laboratory areas. • Readily identifies problems that may adversely affect performance or reporting of results and taking corrective action or notifying supervising personnel when appropriate. • Demonstrated ability to work cooperative with others. • Collect and label multiple sample types • Perform chemical analysis on specimens • Centrifuge and aliquot specimens • Take volumes on timed samples • Order and record test results in lab computer system • Perform, monitor, and document quality control for all testing • Perform and document routine instrument maintenance and calibrations; troubleshoot instrument problems • Process samples referenced to outside laboratories
