Overview
Required Skills and Experience: • BC/BE in FM or IM • Will accept BC/BE new grad • Will accept FM trained candidates with Hospitalist experience What you need to know: • Hospital Size: 48 Beds • How many providers in group? (4) MDs + (2) APPs • Patient encounters per shift? 15-24 shared between (1) MD + (1) NP • EMR: EPIC • How many admits on Days? / Nights? Days = 1 to 3 / Nights = 3 to 5 • Do Hospitalists Round on the ICU? Yes / Open ICU / Vent Management Required • Is there an intensivist? Yes • Do Hospitalists Run Codes and/or rapid response? Yes but ER / OR may also run codes if they are there • Is vent management required? Yes • Are C-lines a required procedure? Desired • Are Intubations a required procedure? Yes • What sub-specialty support is available? Full • The Hospital Medicine Service admits and cares for patients with a range of medical diagnoses. In addition, when appropriate, the team will admit and medically manage orthopedic and surgical patients in consultation with those specialties. • Preoperative and ED consultative services are provided. • Our Hospitalists also provide critical care, including ventilator management, for a 5 bed intensive care unit. • The ability to perform procedures including intubation, central line placement, lumbar puncture, paracentesis and thoracentesis is preferred.
