Overview

Required skills & experience: • Bachelor's Degree in a biological science or medical technology. • 3 years of relevant experience in immunohematologic testing, cGMP, and blood bank quality systems with a progressive increase in supervisory responsibilities. • MT(ASCP) certification or equivalent, SBB or CQA certification preferred. • Ability to develop standard operating procedures and quality program activities. • Develop and implement validation protocols, competency assessment and internal assessments. • Able to solve technical and interdepartmental problems related to immunohematology and transfusion medicine. • Capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results, performing root cause analysis, and taking and documenting corrective action. What you need to know: • In conjunction with the with the director & manager, leads the company Blood Banks to develop and maintain a Quality Program consistent with relevant standards and regulations. • Ensures that the Blood Banks maintain a state of "inspection readiness". • In conjunction with the with the director, manager, and technical staff, develops and implements assessment of operational and quality systems, reports findings and devises appropriate action plans. • Utilize statistical process control methods and software to evaluate and ensure compliance of Blood Bank operations and Quality Systems. • Review updates to AABB and FACT Standards, CAP Checklists, FDA Guidance documents, and AABB Association Bulletins to ensure that policies, processes and procedures maintain compliance.
