Overview

Required skills and experience: • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, or Microbiology, preferred. • Minimum of 2-3 years in infection control / epidemiology. Teaching experience preferred. • Current license to practice as an RN in Massachusetts (MA). • Training in Infection Control methodology, concepts, education and implementation. • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control, preferred. Experience in Infection Control required. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) data collection, RlSolutions, and Meditech, preferred. What you need to know: • Under the general supervision of the Manager/Director of Quality & Patient Safety, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, the Infection Control Nurse is a central figure in the hospital-wide infection control program. He/she is responsible for investigation, surveillance, control and prevention of infections in hospital patients and employees. • The Infection Control Nurse is directly accountable to the Manager/Director of Quality & Patient Safety and has a collaborative relationship with the Medical Chief in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Disease. • The Infection Control Nurse has the responsibility to educate all levels of nursing personnel and other health care workers regarding infection control practices. flexible schedule.
