Overview
Required skills and experience: 1. Graduate of accredited school of nursing, prefer BSN. 2. Current State of Colorado Registered Nurse Licensure. 3. Current BCLS certification. 4. Current ACLS certification. 5. Preferably a minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in an ambulatory care setting. 6. Leadership experience. What you need to know: 1. This person consults with staff, physicians and administrators on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure patient needs are met. They maintain performance improvement activities within the department and participate in QI activities. Interview process: 1. Microsoft Teams video interview 2. Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients’ needs are met and facility policy is followed. 2. Ability to perform a head-to-toe preoperative assessment on all patients and reassess, as needed postoperatively. 3. Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.Educates the patient and family regarding pain management. 4. Knowledge of medications and IV fluids and their correct administration, based on age of the patient and their clinical condition. 5. Follows the seven (7) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors. 6. Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, as indicated, and evaluate for effectiveness. 7. Formulates a teaching plan, based on identified patient learning needs, and evaluates effectiveness of learning. Family is included in teaching, as appropriate, from preop to discharge. 8.Assigns staff; delegates specific duties and tasks.
