Overview
Required skills and experience: 1. Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance 2. 5 to 10 years of working in a rigorous accounting environment (audit experience a plus) 3. Maintains confidentiality with data 4. Demonstrates initiative in understanding process flows and controls 5. High-level problem solving and analytical skills, with high attention to detail 6. Advanced knowledge of general financial accounting and 7. Ability to be proactive and work well in a fast-moving environment with multiple deadlines 8. Experience with SAGE Intacct is preferred 9. Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills 10. Excellent written and oral interpersonal communication skills What you need to know: 1. This individual must be able to demonstrate appropriate, informed, independent judgment in applying accounting principles to organizational business matters, as well as being detail oriented. Additional job details: 1. Manage accounts payable including but not limited to; invoice entry, weekly check-run processing, 1099 management, vendor analysis, and processing of staff reimbursable expenses 2. Manage processing of bank transactions and weekly bank reconciliations 3. Assist with inventory by monitoring inventory transactions, reconciling inventory accounts to the general ledger, and improvement to internal controls 4. Assist with monthly and yearly close process by reconciling balance sheet accounts, journal entry creation and posting, and managing location and vendor support 5. Researches and resolves discrepancies, as necessary and maintains accounting files 6. Assist with annual audit preparation 7. Preparing various tax fillings including but not limited to; 1099s, sales and use, and property taxes 8. Performing other accounting duties and supporting locations and/or staff as needed
