Senior Accountant

Overview

Required skills and experience: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (CPA license a plus). • 3-5 years of experience with a mix of both public accounting and private experience (background working in/with tech startups a plus). *Candidates with experience beyond this will tend to be too tenured for what this role is needing currently. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with multiple teams throughout the organization. • Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls • Proficient with Microsoft excel (can build & maintain complex spreadsheets) skills. • Experience with Sage Intaact and Power BI a plus. • Local to the Nashville area What you need to know: We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team that is self-motivated, has a focus on details, and has strong technical accounting skills. You will work with multiple teams within the business to ensure that the financials are completed on in a timely and accurate fashion. Ideally, you have experience with month-end close and accounting techniques utilized by tech companies. Responsibilities: • Support month-end close activities including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations. • Support accounts payable – input invoices, maintain accounts payable files and handle vendor inquiries. • Support accounts receivable – monitor receipt of payments and apply to appropriate accounts, prepare billings and deposits. • Prepare payroll – biweekly and/or semi-monthly pay periods for exempt and non-exempt employees and ensure quarterly tax payments and reporting are timely. • Work on special projects and tasks as assigned.
