Overview
Duties and responsibilities • Maintain all accounting records consistent with GAAP and company policies. Ensure general ledger accounts are reconciled and analyzed monthly, and that all significant issues are brought to the attention of the CFO, CEO, and operational stakeholders in a timely manner. • Manage and oversee all billing, collections, accounts payable and other finance operational activities. • Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of quarterly bank covenant reports. • Prepare a monthly financial reporting package for the Company executive team. • Take the lead role in researching technical accounting and compliance subjects. • Implement processes, policies and practices to ensure proper internal controls are in place and are monitored effectively. • Review, recommend and replace current billing system, and make recommendation on potential upgrades or replacements for other systems. • Create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement. • Manage the use of budgets. • Work with CFO to develop short, medium and long term cash flow projections. • Define optimal finance structure and roles & responsibilities. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required, Master’s degree is a plus. • CPA preferred. • Prior experience with billing and payroll systems. • Minimum of 5 years management experience. Experience supervising finance operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash application, and payroll strongly preferred. • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP required. • Superior analytical and technical skills combined with the ability to get into the details of basic accounting issues that impact the company yet understand the broader business and strategic issues faced by the company. • Experience with multiple interconnected software systems, including proprietary and/or internally developed systems. • Strong drive for results and success; conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure; persists despite obstacles, ambiguity and opposition. • Well-developed project management and problem-solving skills. • High Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and Excel. • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask. • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based organization, with strong relationship skills. • Demonstrated ability to mentor and manage subordinates in a changing environment.
