Overview

Required skills and experience: • High School Graduate or equivalent. • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis. • Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications. • Perform Prior Approvals for Specialty Pharmacies. • Excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation. • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. • Will consider new grads, but really need 1-3 years of experience —This position will not work out well if the MA doesn't currently work in high stress situations or have experience working well in high stress situations —This is a very hands on clinical MA role. JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant will attend to patients/customers on the phone and in person at a Gastroenterology office. Coordinate and organize daily responsibilities congruent with physician schedules. Assist physicians with giving the highest quality of care to every patient/customer. Triage patients/customers, complete review of systems, and prepare each patient/customer for the upcoming physician examination.
