About the Role: As a Senior Software Development Engineer, MERN stack, you have the opportunity to help to build DreamBox's full-stack learning experience for early learners.  This role will be impactful for both database, back-end services, and front-end game client development, and is an opportunity to be a part of the full SLDC lifecycle for a new platform. You will also work closely with other talented engineers, architects, and designers, and will leverage the best technologies to deliver the next-generation game clients and services that will serve the company’s growing customer base. What You'll Be Doing: •Help us build, improve and scale our learning products (MERN stack) •Actively participate in Agile team meetings such as stand-ups, demos, retrospectives, grooming, and planning – helping facilitate streamlined team functioning   •Own parts of feature sets from inception through implementation and past release into customer use •Advocate for technology work (such as technical debt) with product managers so that the right mix of core infrastructure and external features get built •Interface as an SME with other teams such as product management, client success, curriculum, and marketing •Design and architect solutions and actively participate in architecture discussions with other developers •Participate in code reviews for peers About You: •4+ years of applicable experience in technical roles •Experience working on systems built with the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.jshttp://Express.js, React.jshttp://React.js, Node.jshttp://Node.js) in an AWS environment •Experience working with JSON RESTful services / APIs •Self-motivated and passionate about software engineering and technology •Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills •Lateral thinking skills •Can communicate effectively to technical and non-technical people •Experience in game development with Unity is a plus but not required
