Overview
Required skills and experience: 1. Graduate of accredited school of nursing, prefer BSN. 2. Current State of Colorado Registered Nurse Licensure. 3. Current BCLS certification. 4. Current ACLS certification. 5. Preferably a minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in an ambulatory care setting. 6. Resolves staff concerns at the departmental level, utilizing the grievance process as required. 7. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire safety, emergency management and infection prevention and control. What you need to know: 1. Looking for someone who represents the organization in a positive and professional manner. 2. This position will handle scheduling, staff assignments and office duties as well as going on the front line when needed. 3. You will assign staff; delegate specific duties and tasks. Additional job details: 1. Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients’ needs are met and facility policy is followed. 2. Ability to perform a head-to-toe preoperative assessment on all patients and reassess, as needed postoperatively. 3. Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. 4. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management. 5. Knowledge of medications and IV fluids and their correct administration, based on age of the patient and their clinical condition. 6. Follows the seven (7) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors. 7. Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, as indicated, and evaluate for effectiveness. 8. Formulates a teaching plan, based on identified patient learning needs, and evaluates effectiveness of learning. Family is included in teaching, as appropriate, from preop to discharge. 9. Supports, maintains, and trains a culture of safety and quality. 10. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. 11. Consults other departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities. 12. Responsible for management and training of clinical staff during their hire period as well as annually. 13. Maintains performance improvement for the facility.
