Overview

Required skills and experience: *BA/BS or BFA in Industrial Design, Product Design or Furniture Design *Minimum 5-8 years of consumer product and/or furniture design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience *Experience in translating user needs and research insights into phenomenal product concepts *Proficiency with 3D modeling computer systems (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.) is helpful, but not required *Knowledge of KeyShot, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is useful, but not a necessity What you need to know: *Act as conduit between channel/new product development groups and industrial design team *Communicate team goals, project brief changes, company communication, etc. pertaining to projects in retail channel to Sr. Director, studio manager, and overall design team *Provide input and strategy to ID management to further define retail portfolio needs *Run ID led product research events to help resolve project direction via internal and external research of ID concepts only and vs. the competition *Coordinate ID support and logistics for external led retail channel market research events, retail line reviews and customer events *Track project schedules within retail channel ensuring goals are hit *Solve retail related design and styling problems in creative, timely, and cost-effective ways via sketches, renderings and models *Proactively bring unsolicited concepts forward for consideration *Create and submit relevant design patents Additional job details: One of the largest decorative plumbing products manufacturers in the world, is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our design team is an award-winning group providing creative direction and product portfolio management for an array of products in the kitchen and bathroom spaces including: Kitchen and lavatory faucets Tub and shower faucet units (i.e. valve controls, tub spouts, showerheads, hand showers, body sprays, shower panel systems, etc.) All manner of accessories such as pulls and knobs, shelving systems, towel bars and rings, robe hooks, tissue holders, bud vases, votive holders, mirrors, etc. Lighting Sanitary ware including toilets, etc. Bathing products including all varieties of tubs, shower surrounds, tub/shower combos, shower doors, etc. And integrating electronics, technology and IoT into almost all of the above
