    • Durable Goods
    • Product Design
    • Manufacturing

Overview

Required skills and experience: *Must possess a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and 5 or more years of durable goods product design experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. *Must have proven knowledge and experience in various manufacturing processes, such as: plastic injection molding, rubber molding, machining, brazing, buffing, plating, coating, PVD, zinc die casting, brass casting, forging, stamping, and 3D printing for rapid prototyping. *Must have knowledge of quality management systems, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, as well as a detailed understanding of engineering design. *Must have excellent problem-solving abilities and be capable of communicating with all levels of the organization. *Must be flexible, results orientated and appreciative of the contributions of all team members. What you need to know: *Participate in the design development and own the implementation of new products to ensure they meet customer needs *Collaborate with product and process design to build the best manufacturing alternatives within existing and proposed manual and automated processes *Assist with design verification and validation for new products, internally processed parts and modifications to existing products and components *Lead all aspects of the disposition of new parts and assemblies through pilot runs, first article or PPAP, material review board and deviations *Find opportunities and solutions to improve product performance, cost, quality, and manufacturability *Design, develop and implement product quality improvements, cost reductions and product modifications to meet customer and changing market needs
