Overview
Position Summary: Provides direct client service, including assessing and treating the MNT of clients, including nutritional counseling, education, physical activity, and symptom management. The dietitian works with the multidisciplinary team in providing comprehensive treatment to the client. Duties and Responsibilities: • Conducts client assessments and develops, implements, coordinates services for, and monitors/evaluates individualized meal plans • Coordinates and facilitates therapeutic client meals and snacks in a group setting • Collaborates with the Emily Program staff and community professionals and community agencies in coordinating client care services and maintaining continuity of care • Utilizes program materials and professional knowledge to enhance, coordinate and facilitate nutrition related group programming, may co-facilitate other group programming as needed • Maintains clinical records in compliance with the Emily Program policies and regulatory standards • Maintains at all times the confidentiality of proprietary information and any client’s or employee’s medical, financial, or personal information, records, and data to which there is access • Maintains and enhances knowledge of current clinical practice, strategies, and developments through participation in his or her professional organization; attending related seminars, workshops, and conferences; and reviewing the literature • May be involved in mentoring/training staff and/or interns as needed • May support the meal and food service needs at specified location • Participates in case consultation and all other necessary scheduled meetings • Drive clients, staff, and supplies in the company vehicle as needed • Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications: • Registered Dietitian required • Current licensure/certification in the state of employment • Must have valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive. • Current Basic Life Support certification required (American Heart Association) within 30 days from date of hire • Mental health experience preferred • 1 year of experience as a dietitian preferred • ServSafe Certification preferred Competencies: • Exhibits passion for our clients, values, and organization • Demonstrates excellent clinical customer service using therapeutic communication skills to build strong client relationships and improve outcomes • Participates in providing clinically competent care by self/staff/team through education, role modeling, teambuilding, clinical documentation and quality monitoring • Uses leadership, team building, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to build partnerships within and across system • Engages in self-evaluation process, seeking feedback regarding own practice, from clients, peers, professional colleagues and others Workplace Environment: • Sitting 70-75% and Standing 25-30%. • Bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping or crouching when appropriate, on occasion. • Lift, carry, push or pull up to approx. 40 pounds (supplies, etc.)
