Overview

Required skills and experience: 1. Education: Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associate in Arts degree. 2. Experience: Maternal and child health experience and at least two years of experience in maternal and child home visitation. 3. Professional/Technical Certifications: Certified lactation educator (CLE) or certified lactation counselor (CLC) at a minimum; or certification must be completed within six months of hire; alternately staff may be certified lactation consultant (CLC) or international board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC/RLC). 4. Technical Requirements: o Computer skills; including web browsing, e-mail, data entry, and word processing. Proficiency in Windows-based programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. 5. Bilingual Required: Ability to converse, write and/or translate in English and Spanish. 6. Travel: Some travel/business related driving required; automobile, current auto insurance, current California Driver’s License and DMV clearance required. What you need to know: 1. Work Schedule: Full time, typically M-F, ability to at times work a non-traditional work schedule including early mornings, late evenings and weekends. 2. Work environment: Mixture of working in an office work environment and working directly with the community. Willingness to work in a traditional setting (i.e. office, full-time remote setting, and/or hybrid schedule (office & remote work). 3. Background & Health Clearance Requirements: Bridge & FWB o Criminal Records (e.g. Livescan Fingerprinting), Child Abuse Index Check, Sexual Offender Registry, Health and Tuberculosis (TB) test clearances required. Additional job details: 1. Within a team environment, this position will perform the following responsibilities: •Plan, provide, and document visits and engagements in accordance with the Welcome Baby Program Model and the activities approved in the program contract. 40% •Collect, enter, maintain and report data accurately and on time. 35% •Participate in bi-monthly group reflective supervision, weekly individual reflective supervision, and staff meetings. 15% •Attend mandatory funder, curriculum affiliate, and agency required trainings. 5% 2. These duties include tasks that are required and comprise less than 5% of daily functions for this job: •Complete Welcome Baby training required for Parent Coach within one year of hire. •Complete CLE training within six months of hire. •Organize and inventory supplies/materials, etc. •Obtain competency-based professional development and renew Parent Educator certification as required by grant funding. •Participate in continuous quality improvement as needed. •Engage in participant recruitment activities, as applicable. •Keep up to date with fetal and child development literature, research, and trends in the business and politics early care and education. •Prepare oral and written reports as needed. •Represent CCRC at community events as needed. •Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required
  • Associate degree or higher
  • 2+ years of experience in ANY of the following:
    • Maternal and child health
    • maternal and child home visitation
  • Ability to converse, write and/or translate in English and Spanish.
Preferred
  • ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
    • Child Development Associate (CDA) in California (CA)
    • Certified Lactation Educator (CLE) in California (CA)
    • Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) in California (CA)
