Overview

Required skills and experience: 1. Valid driver’s license required 2. 4 to 7 years of relevant experience, required. Previous experience within the construction industry preferred 3. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred 4. Strong knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles 5. Strong systems and software aptitude 6. Strong leadership skills, including coaching and support 7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 8. Attention to detail and organization skills required 9. Ability to think critically and recognize discrepancies and anomalies through analysis 10. Ability to prioritize and work proactively and independently, productively collaborating with relevant teams as necessary to manage priorities and meet deadlines What you need to know: 1. This is a full-time position located in office. 2. This position reports to the Controller and requires the ability to complete tasks and prioritize projects with little direction and deliver accurate and timely results. 3. The ideal candidate can operate as a high-level individual contributor while working cohesively with a team of accounting and finance professionals. Interview process: Approx 3-4 step process including onsite interviews Additional job details: 1. Manage the accounts payable disbursement process for all company entities 2. Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly closing entries and account reconciliations for all company entities 3. Maintain records and forms for transactions in accordance with GAAP, including partnering with the field and accounting team to ensure proper accounting of all transactions 4. Identify, develop, and implement internal controls focused on continuous improvement to drive ongoing gains in quality, accuracy, and efficiency 5. Prepare annual and quarterly audit schedules and work effectively with internal and external auditors on inquiries and preparation of requests 6. Partner with other functional areas to resolve issues and support achievement of business goals 7. Provide assistance and oversight to staff accountants as required as well as assist in their coaching and development 8. Challenge existing accounting processes to improve efficiency 9. Assist in other accounting tasks, special projects and job duties, as directed by management

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 4+ years of experience in ANY of the following:
    • direct accounts payable disbursements
    • preparing and reviewing monthly closing entries and account reconciliations
    • Maintaining records and forms for transactions in accordance with GAAP
    • Partnering with the field and accounting team to ensure proper accounting of all transactoins
    • Implement internal controls focused on continous improvement to drive ongoing gains
    • Prepare annual and quarterly audit scheudles and collaborate with internal and external auditors
    • coaching and development to staff accountants
