Overview
Position Overview: The Director, Data Services will be reporting to VP, Data & Analytics and will be responsible for the acquisition, integration, management, and delivery of the various healthcare data sources used by the business. Key responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day operations of data warehouse & reporting delivery, maintenance of data pipelines and building the strategy to acquire and maintain the data with a high level of fidelity in the Enterprise data warehouse while ensuring efficient use of resources to meet organizational service levels. This position will own the processes and policies related to data access, data sharing and data usage, and ensuring the integrity and quality of data used for clinical, and administrative purposes. The Director will also be responsible for evolving capabilities to help the business find opportunities to serve more patients through strategic technology investments and the use of data for generation of meaningful insights. Responsibilities • Leveraging the expertise in working with healthcare data, collaborate with customers on data integration processes, file prioritizations, deadlines while improving quality and efficiency • Lead the data acquisition and integration of data into the enterprise data warehouse platform. Along with managerial responsibilities some hands-on involvement primarily in architectural design and policy development • Establish standards to ensure that communication to the customers regarding the status of implementation projects occurs in a consistent manner and on a regular basis. • Coordinate the technology to support Data Quality, Integrity, Sourcing, Design and Administration. • Manage a diverse workforce, preferably in a partially virtual setting. • Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent project teams from delivering on project goals. • Collaborate with implementation teams to establish trust and strong execution • Design and develop integrated test plans relevant to interface implementations. • Oversee the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) technology operations and support client integration and data submission • Work efficiently and effectively across multiple functional teams and manage multiple priorities. • Determine data & Integration priorities in conjunction with EDW data governance structure, assisting to develop any plans necessary to resolve resource issues during both project planning and implementation. • Oversee project documentation and updates to relevant knowledge bases; analyze lessons learned and share with members of IT data services team. • Hire, train and mentor top talent, while fostering a culture of curiosity where initiative and performance are rewarded Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree required in Computer Science, Engineering or related field • 12+ years’ experience with a minimum of 5 years leading a Datawarehouse & data engineering role • 7+years of leadership/management experience • 5+ years of healthcare experience • 3+ years of experience in cloud-based data platforms like AWS, Azure & analytical data warehouse like snowflake, redshift etc • Working knowledge of master data management, data warehousing, coding languages and ontologies • Excellent knowledge of data integration program involving all components including source systems, ETL, data quality/integrity, database, and delivery mechanisms and EDI business processes, practices and procedures within healthcare environment • Strong work-ethic and positive attitude and exceptional ability to manage multiple projects across functional teams in a fast-paced environment • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and an ability to provide recommendations on data integrations and applications • Strategic, conceptual analytical thinking and decision-making skills. • Ability to advise on complex technical matters to all stakeholders; ability to communicate effectively with senior management. • Exceptional interpersonal skills • Ability to build teams and generate a spirit of cooperation while coordinating diverse activities and groups; people management and negotiating skills within a team environment. • Ability to negotiate consensus amongst diverse groups and impact the activities of others in a matrixed environment
