About the Role The Director of Human Resources (HR) will lead the execution of strategic HR responsibilities including workforce planning, employee escalations, organizational design, performance management, payroll, total rewards, and administrative compliance. This individual will need to be extremely detail-oriented, knowledgeable about national, state, and local employment laws, and efficient when conducting cross-functional work. The Director of HR will partner with the Compliance and People teams to ensure that every employee has access to appropriate employment documentation, career resources, and administrative support as they navigate their employment journey. In providing such support, the Director of HR will directly create a more productive, empowered employee experience. Responsibilities Counsel, collaborate, align, and drive execution with cross-functional and executive stakeholders on HR strategies and tactics to align company action with business needs. Develop compliant, transparent, and scalable HR policies and procedures Oversee and address all payroll, tax, and benefit questions across employees and consultants. Evaluate and resolve difficult employee relations issues, as well as evaluate and develop strategy for trends that are observed. Support managers in departmental design and performance management Create, communicate, and maintain outlets for employee feedback and recommendations. Position the HR function as a strategic change management partner to consult, advise and execute on leadership management transitions, reorganization initiatives and workforce planning activities. Utilize business metrics to identify opportunities for improvement through HR technology. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent in experience. Master’s degree in healthcare related field preferred. PHR or SPHR Certification is preferred. Management experience preferred. Work authorized in the United States and native or bilingual English proficiency. Deep understanding of national, state, and local employment laws. Experience managing both in-house and third-party payroll and benefit teams Microsoft Office proficiency. Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and listening skills, with a natural, consultative style. Strong project management skills, with a demonstrable ability to corral and manage details in a fast-paced, fluid environment. Experience advising, presenting to, and persuading senior corporate personnel. Must haves: Experience with employee escalations. Experience with PIPs + manager coaching. Experience with HR compliance (compliant policy development around leave, PTO, severance, wage garnishments, etc). Employee documentation (offer letters, offboarding letters, etc.).
