About the Role We are seeking a hands-on Product Marketing Director to develop and implement a strategic marketing plan to drive the growth of our search and discovery products focused on the digital experience / content-commerce experience market (Sitecore, Acquia, Adobe, Drupal, etc). You will work closely with the founder and the leadership team and will play a key role in planning and executing the product marketing strategy for our product-led growth motion. This person will create positioning and messaging for product launches, campaigns and programs to drive awareness and demand; create content for digital media, websites, collateral, presentations and sales tools; create and deliver presentations at industry and analyst events and partner and customer briefings. This is a unique opportunity to build out the product marketing organization and grow it. This is a significant role as our company extends its total addressable market and evolves accordingly. You will start with a customer base numbering in the 500s and together we can take it to tens of thousands. The primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to): - Drive Demand Generation and Product Awareness - Drive growth through campaigns across all channels, responsible for generating pipeline, setting the demand gen strategy, allocating appropriate budgets, and measuring results. - Create the overall marketing mix, owning the balance of programs across all channels from email and digital to events and direct mail. - Drive awareness, excitement and engagement with our products/services through content marketing initiatives that foster strong relationships with customers and anticipate trends in our technological environment. - Develop launch plans and sustain go-to-market strategies for existing and next-gen products/services with the aim of driving demand and ensuring customer retention and loyalty. - Translate and articulate technology messages and concepts into consumer and partner-friendly principles working closely across engineering, product development, marketing, partnerships, and sales. Market Research, Positioning & Competitive Landscape - Develop a deep understanding of our target customers and their use cases to create effective positioning and messaging frameworks for our products. - Own product positioning that differentiates the company by understanding customer needs, product roadmap, market trends, and competitive forces. - Study the competition, our customers, and solutions to optimize product-market fit. - Develop compelling written and visual content, including full-featured product web pages, landing pages, datasheets, whitepapers, videos, webinars, analyst presentations, case studies, and more. - Develop analyst update material and conduct calls to keep analysts updated on product progress. Sales & Partner Enablement - Develop sales tools including sales scripts, email templates, presentations, and demonstration videos or other materials that effectively communicate product benefits. - Support the partner, sales, and customer success teams with kill sheets, customer case studies, demos, and content tailored to specific personas. What we're looking for: - Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced startup environment and building from the ground up. - Strong experience designing, developing and implementing insight-driven, content-led marketing and sales enablement content. - General marketing skills with strong business acumen and passion for creating and driving integrated go-to-market plans. - Ability to thrive in a start-up environment when building something new and levering ambiguity as an opportunity. - Ability to navigate and engage multiple areas of a rapidly growing organization, understanding and leveraging interdependencies across people, process and function. - Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop clear, concise, compelling messaging, and a persuasive writing style. - Strong presentation skills. - Strong project management skills with exceptional attention to detail. - Demonstrated ability to work across functions within Marketing, Product and Sales, building relationships to drive results. - Strong leadership skills with strong written communication skills and dynamic speaking skills. - High energy, a positive attitude, and accountability are critical for success.
