Overview
Location: Waco Center for Youth 3501 N 19th St, Waco, TX 76708 Shifts Times: - 7:00 am - 7:00 pm (includes unpaid 30 min lunch break) - 2 week rotation: (1) 48-hours week & (1) 36 hour week every other weekend off Job Requirements for all candidates: - Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse and able to practice in Texas - Preferably 2+ years as a direct care nurse - Prefer experience in direct client care in a psychiatric setting. - Experience needs to be hospital acute care, LTC , community clinics, public health, etc. (not Home Health or School Nurse) Timeline for hiring: - Qualified submissions welcome now through 07/15/22 - Interviews now through 07/15/22 - Hiring decisions on or before 07/15/22 - Approximate start dates: 06/16/2022, 07/01/2022 or 07/15/2022 - Minimum 6 month contract, possibly longer, as long as there are not performance issues. - All compliance must be met before candidate can start. No exceptions. Other: - Must have valid photo ID and current American Heart Association CPR certification - Must have negative PPD results within last 12 months - COVID-19 testing with negative result required (we provide) - COVID-19 Vaccination Card if applicable. - Must be able to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check - Must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check (we provide) Duties of Registered Nurse: - Performs routine nursing work. - Work involves providing for the assessment, care and treatment of patients. - Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. - May assign nursing responsibilities to the Unit LVN in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. - The responsibility of the Unit RN is to provide for and supervise the professional nursing care of the individuals who reside in a state hospital setting. - The Unit RN is available to unit personnel to make nursing decisions on a 24- hour basis. - She/he is a member of the professional team and shares responsibility with other team members for the development of the individual's program. - Work involves communication skills, i.e. relaying information to other team members, physicians, nurses; data entry, documentation, completing reports, maintaining personnel records, supervisory duties, and following all facility rules/policies. - Other duties as assigned by the Chief Nurse Executive and Assistant Nurse Executive.

- Valid Registered Nurse (RN)
- Valid American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
- Current ID, TB, Resume, 2 references, and willing to fill out skills checklist
